Joe DiMaggio hits 3 consecutive home runs, Israel is declared an independent state and Alvechurch Dramatic Society produces its first play The Sea Urchin. We’ve asked Google for a script but we can’t find one. It must have been a success though because in 1968 it was revived for the society’s 20th anniversary. Since then every year has seen at least one production from your favourite thespians (until 2020, when sadly Covid-19 scuppered our plans.)
