Susan Resuggan’s version of Great Expectations which she directed for Alvechurch Dramatic Society in 2015 was a triumph. The production featured stellar performances (pun intended) from the whole cast, including Martin Salter as Pip, Gemma Batty as Estella and Brian Watkiss as Magwitch. These combined with minimalistic set design and original music by Dave Howard to make an highly atmospheric and evocative piece of theatre.
